DONATE Lighting for boarding school

Children, 6-15 years old leave their homes traveling for days sometimes to the schools and reside there away from home and families for an entire semester if not an entire school year.

Most children are from outlying agricultural districts and in the past, tuition costs were feasible even for agrarian parents. Of the many costs for running schools, one in particular has become prohibitive: electricity to power the schools. The schools experience outages lasting weeks to months seasonally (December to May).

With your help, Vianne will provide lighting in boarding schools powered by solar electricity. With lighting at night school attendance and results will improve dramatically: there are more productive study hours after sunset, better dining experience at the boarding school refectory (kids see better what they eat), the safety of the kids is increased as there is lighting outside and in the dormitories.
